ASKED A LOT.

ROOTS

What does the root look like?

A knobbly crown with pink or red buds (eyes) and thick roots. It does look like a potato. It isn’t.

What’s an Itoh peony?

A cross between a garden (herbaceous) peony and a tree peony. Big flowers, strong stems, and it dies back to the ground in winter.

What’s a garden peony?

The classic herbaceous peony. It dies back every fall, comes back every spring, and can outlive the person who planted it.

Will it survive my winter?

Our cultivars are listed for Zones 3 to 8, and ours grow in Narol, Manitoba. Check your zone, plant in full sun and make sure the spot drains.

When will it flower?

Usually in 2 to 3 years. Peonies are slow to start and live for decades. We can’t promise a bloom date.

Can I plant in spring?

You can, but fall is better. Right now we dig and ship in fall only.

It’s sold out. Now what?

That cultivar is done until the next dig. Email us and we’ll tell you when it’s back.

FLOWERS

Do you sell cut flowers?

Yes, in June, when the beds bloom. Pre-orders are open now.

When exactly will my flowers come?

Peonies bloom when the weather says so, usually sometime in June here. We email you a delivery day once the buds are close.

Can you ship flowers?

No. Fresh flowers are local delivery only, around Winnipeg and Selkirk.

ORDERS

Where do you ship?

Roots ship anywhere in Canada by Canada Post. No US or international orders.

Do you deliver locally?

Yes. We deliver ourselves within about 30 km of Narol, which covers Winnipeg and Selkirk.

Can I pick up at the farm?

No. The farm isn’t open to the public.

Can I send one as a gift?

Yes. Ship to their address and write your note in the order notes at checkout. We print it on a card and leave prices out of the box.

Do you charge tax?

Not at the moment. If that changes, tax will show at checkout before you pay.
